Artist in Residence
Gonzalo Hernandez is a multidisciplinary Peruvian artist based in Savannah, Georgia. He graduated in 2014 from School of Visual Arts “Corriente Alterna,” where he was part of the first group of the exchange program to Parsons Paris-France in 2013. In 2012, he was awarded second placeat the “XXI Young Artists National Competition” and received the first place in the Latin American contest “Embotellarte-2011”. He has participated in several group exhibitions in Paris, Savannah, Lima, Arequipa, and Cuzco, in venues such as "Spain Cultural Center – Lima, “Museum of Contemporary Art – Arequipa,” “Peruvian North American Cultural Institute(ICPNA)” and "Fail Studios - LA" . Also in France, he was selected for the juror exhibition Louboutin “The Aesthetics of the Naked”, at Paris College of Arts. He received an MFA in Fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2019.
